Holy bejesus! Sauteed Brussels Sprouts


1 bag or 1/2 stalk of Brussels sprouts (slice sprouts in half)

1 tbs butter
1 tbs olive oil
1 tbs minced garlic
1/2 sliced small purple onion
sea salt and ground pepper

Over medium heat do the following on the stovetop in a saute pan:
Melt butter
Toss in olive oil
Add the garlic and onion. When garlic and onion grow translucent, toss in sprouts. Stir frequently for a few minutes.
Add salt and pepper.
Cover and let simmer on medium-low about ten minutes or till desired level of softness is achieved.

I like mine crisper and browner than my husband does.

Option: Add 1 strip raw bacon while it cooks. Add 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup marsala wine.
